How do Rhino Graphic Panels compare to HPL, Fiberglass embedment, and Porcelain Enamel? The easiest way to compare them is on our Comparison Chart. Also getting a sample in your hands will convince you of the differences. Put Rhino and a competent product in a bucket of water for a few days. Or hit them each with a hammer- HARD, but watch out for flying bits of the other products! You'll convince yourself! -back to top-
What are the standard sizes for Rhino panels? There really aren't standard sizes, as everything is custom made and can be made to your specifications. Common sizes are 18"xi", 20"xi", 24"xi", and 36"xi". -back to top-
How big can you make Rhino Panels? Maximum size is 4'x8' (48"x96"). Larger graphics can be manufactured using multiple panels. -back to top-
How many colors can we print with Rhino Panels? Rhino is printed in full color so there are no limitations to color other than the common CMYK color space. There are no savings for using just a couple of colors, and no extra costs in adding colors. Design the most dynamic graphic you can, we'll make it into a tough and durable Rhino Panel! -back to top-
What is "Fused Polycarbonate"? This is the best term for the proprietary process used to create your panels. The image and the materials used are "fused" together chemically to create the strongest signs on the planet. -back to top-
Can I order Stands and/or Frames and Hardware with my panels? We are happy to your project with frames and or pedestals and hardware. Let us know the project's specifications and we'll send you a Rhino Stands quote. Check out some of the options on the Rhino Stands Page. -back to top-
I see layers on the edges, won't this de-laminate or wick water? No it will not, we guarantee it. There are layers there certainly, and you can SEE the protection given to the image on a Rhino Panels, there is a thick layer of polycarbonate over the digital image. You can't see the layers in the competing products, because they are SO THIN. This is also why all of the competing products damage so easily compared to Rhino. Check out water wicking for yourself, get a sample of Rhino and throw it in a bucket of water... for as long as you like... it WON"T wick. Try that with HPL! -back to top-
How do I set-up files for a Rhino project? Most major graphics programs are just fine. Download our Digital Specs sheet, give us a call or send an e-mail if you need any further assistance, we would be happy to answer your questions, ad help make your Rhino project a success. -back to top-
How do you proof Rhino Panels? We make your proofs for every Rhino project on the actual printer and the actual media that will be fused to the Polycarbonate assuring you that your proofs will be accurate. There is a very slight change in density and color (less than 5%) when the graphics are embedded and we are happy to make you "Lab Samples" (fully fused polycarbonate samples) for an extra fee if you like. The difference is so slight it usually isn't necessary to do a lab sample but on your first couple of projects it may add to your confidence to see the look of the Rhino Panel. -back to top-
Where can I use Rhino Graphic Panels? This is the real strength of Rhino Panels, you can use them just about anywhere you can imagine. Outdoor Graphics and Signs, High Contact Areas, Flooring, Cruise Ships, Tables and Counter Tops, High Humidity/ Wet Areas including pools and spas (even IN the pool or spa if you like), Aquariums and Zoos, from seaside to mountain top. With proper installation there is almost no environment that Rhino can't handle (lava would be a problem, probably work in deep space though).-back to top-
Are there special installation requirements for Rhino Panels? Yes there are. Rhino Panels are very sophisticated and require a little planning to install correctly. The panels "breathe" just a bit, but this is precisely why they are so tough and resilient. The guidelines are available in our Tech section -here-, and we will be adding information for specific types of installations and environments as we can. Don't worry it only takes a small amount of planning and using the correct materials to make your installation a success.-back to top-
Why are Rhino Panels so resistant to vandalism? We designed Rhino to be exceptionally tough. There is a thick layer of polycarbonate covering and protecting your graphic. Paint and marker vandalism can be easily removed with widely available solvents. Scratches and gouges take a little more work but come out quite easily. If you tried to buff the scratches out of competing products you would destroy the graphic, it's just too close to the surface to have adequate protection from scratches and key gouges. If it's especially bad you can send it back to us and resin can be poured into the deep gouges. Once buffed out you'll have a hard time finding evidence of the damage. Check the Tech Section for documents relating to Vandalism and Recovery. -back to top-
What does "recoverable" mean? It's a term we coined for Rhino's ability to be "recovered" from all but the most severe vandalism. Paint and markers come right off, scratches and gouges buffed out. Unique in the industry, Rhino's recoverability makes it the best value in the market. Look for the 10 year cost analysis in the Tech Section (coming soon, we're working on it, but it's not there yet) -back to top-
How much do Rhino Panels weigh? Obviously this is dependent on size and thickness, the chart below gives approximate weight per square foot in the various thicknesses. You can add up the total square footage of your project or do it sign by sign and get pretty darn close to the final weight. -back to top-

Can Rhino be custom cut, routed, machined, and/or drilled? Absolutely! Rhino panels can handle custom fabrication with ease. Remember the panels are "fused" together and have the same properties and strengths throughout the graphic. You need not worry that your graphics will fail along a cut or drill hole. -back to top-
